About the Film The Emmy Award-winning documentary, Ernie & Joe: Crisis Cops, is a timely foray in to the world of first responders who are often tasked with supporting community members in mental health crisis.
The film chronicles Ernie Stevens, founding member of the San Antonio Police Department's Mental Health Unit, as well as Officer Joe Smarro, Ernie's partner and integral member of the MHU team.
